Work-in-progress

Druid’s artist residency, FUEL, began in 2014 as a means of providing support and resources for artists based in the west of Ireland. As part of this year’s Festival, FUEL presents a series of presentations from current FUEL participants Andrea Cleary, Little John Nee, Liam McCarthy and Wildebeest Theatre.

Liam McCarthy will present a reading of The Dinner Party, a bold new play exploring the boundaries of liberal ideas in modern society, and Andrea Cleary will perform a work-in-progress extract of her new piece which was devised in response to Irish society’s treatment of vulnerable people. In Radio Rosario, award-winning performer Little John Nee will present an extract of his new show about old radios and the broadcasts we never hear, while Wildebeest Theatre will host a discussion around their production, Swipe, exploring the modern phenomenon of finding love online.
