Traught Beach, Kinvara (30th April) | Ladies Beach, Galway City (1st May)
Free
SALT is a multidisciplinary, immersive, ritual celebration of our connection to the sea as a coastal community, inspired by the gathered powerful personal stories of a community of sea-swimmers based in Kinvara from which a Choric Ode has been developed. SALT, created and led by theatre-maker Vanessa Earl is a collaboration with composer Robbie Blake, poet Mary Madec, featuring a choir of 60, a professional ensemble, vocalist Ceara Conway and light-art by Mick Murray. Performances will take place on Tracht Beach in Kinvara and Ladies Beach in Salthill at 8.30pm. As this is an outdoor event please dress appropriately. Swimming in the sea afterwards is welcomed but not obligatory!
