The Untethering is a campy modern retelling of a Greek myth that told of ash-nymphs who hid and cared for the infant Zeus in the secluded Diktaean cave in Crete. In this narrative we meet three dysfunctional nymphs Amal, Knyo, and Melis, who are forced by their goddess Rhea into looking after the baby Zeus. But as these nymphs learn more about each other and the sinister powers of Zeus, they must decide if they should protect or destroy the next ruler of Olympus.
This is a rehearsed reading of a play in development.
The Untethering is a collaboration developed with support from Galway Theatre Festival.
