Galway Theatre Festival was established in 2008, to platform Galway and West of Ireland based independent and emerging artists.
GTF takes place in May each year, showcasing the energy and imagination of artists from Galway and the West of Ireland, playing host to exciting young theatre companies and artists from throughout the country.
Our mission is to bring a fresh and lively programme of performance to the audiences of Galway. The Festival's aim is to provide audiences with a programme of innovative, engaging and diverse theatre of a high artistic and professional standard both locally and nationally.
We are passionate about supporting artists and companies, in presenting work for the festival and developing their productions and artistic practice.

Galway Theatre Festival seeks a creative, enthusiastic and organised Marketing Manager who is passionate about theatre and will lead our marketing and audience development for 2026. We’re looking for someone who has a deep understanding of storytelling, branding and the landscape of independent theatre in Ireland in a way that connects with our artists and audiences.
This role plays a key part in how GTF communicates and reaches its audiences. It covers website management, content creation, traditional marketing and reporting.
The successful candidate will work closely with the core team to bring about the best festival possible.
Manage and update the GTF website, ensuring information is clear, accurate and visually aligned with the festival brand
Create dynamic, engaging content for social platforms using tools like Canva, CapCut and basic editing software
Develop short-form content ideas that help audiences connect with our artists, our programme and our festival
Create email marketing campaigns, working to grow this audience
Liaise with artists and companies to gather materials, imagery and copy that represent their work in a fun, accessible manner
Produce and deliver a digital marketing plan across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and other relevant channels
Manage and optimise Meta ad campaigns, including audience segmentation, tracking and reporting
Ensure the GTF visual identity is consistently and creatively applied across digital and physical assets
Help shape the festival’s public voice and visual identity in line with GTF’s mission and tone of voice
Work with the team on campaign ideas that bring the festival into the streets of Galway: flags, signage, posters, outdoor placements and community visibility
Identify target audiences for festival shows and collaborate on strategies to reach them
Support with programme launch planning, coordinating assets, timelines and communications
Track and analyse performance across digital platforms, website traffic, email engagement and Meta ads
Use data to provide clear insights and recommendations to inform marketing decisions and audience strategy
Monitor box office trends with the team and adjust marketing accordingly
Work collaboratively with the core team to deliver a cohesive festival campaign
Maintain organised systems for content, scheduling and communication
We’re looking for someone with 2+ years experience in marketing or digital content creation, or equivalent skills demonstrated through a strong portfolio.
Experience designing and delivering marketing campaigns in the arts, cultural or creative sectors
A strong understanding of branding, audience behaviour and digital trends
Confident use of Canva, CapCut, social platforms and basic creative tools
Experience running Meta ads and interpreting analytics
Strong writing skills and an ability to create clear, engaging copy
A collaborative, proactive attitude with confidence to work independently when needed
Excellent communication skills for working with artists and partners
A passion for contemporary performance and the independent arts scene
Curiosity, playfulness and a commitment to learning
